Jesus looked at them and said, “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” -Matthew 19:26
"Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows." -Luke 12:7
A recently elected politician recently said in his victory speech "We will prove that there is no problem too large for Government to solve, and no concern too small for it (the Government) to care about."
I have been known to crib ideas and language from the Bible but I try to acknowledge the source and treat it with respect. As a Christian with a modest understanding of the Bible, it seems that that this politician is thumbing-his-nose at the First Commandment:
You shall not have other gods beside me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol or a likeness of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth;
you shall not bow down before them or serve them.
For I, the LORD,
your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their ancestors’
wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and
fourth generation; but showing love down to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments. -Exodus Chapter 20
I do not claim to be a student of the Quran, but it seems probable that Allah might also be a jealous god. I wonder how his words resonate with the Imams and Ulama.
We will prove that there is no problem too large for Government to create, and no concern too small for it (the Government) to destroy...

Mamdani is simply mouthing the platitudes that his moronic voter base wants to hear. He...like ALL commies will rarely do what he campaigned to do.
ReplyDeleteI must disagree with Dan. Islam is not a religion in the western sense. It is a totalitarian political movement disguised as a religion - just as Communism is. It does not distinguish between secular and religious, because Islam wants to cover every aspect of life, no matter how small. Mamdani wants exactly what he said. The real question is how will he and his fellow jihadis be stopped.
ReplyDeleteWhen Obama was inaugurated, Rush Limbaugh was interviewed and said, "I hope he fails." Most people misinterpreted him, and condemned him for it. But "most people" also conflate the President with the country. Rush knew what plans Obama had to destroy the foundations of our American society and replace them with government-controlled tyranny, and wanted Obama to fail in those plans. Unfortunately Obama mostly succeeded, and over the past ten years, from the partisan weaponization of the Deep State and the military to the thorough corruption of our medical care system, and the money laundered funding of the Democrat party's operations with our tax dollars (including NGOs and Antifa) we are reaping the results.
For leftists and democrat commies, The State, IS their God.
ReplyDeleteThey choose to live a life very definitely AGAINST God, so they cannot use Him, they accept/manufacture a substitute. Politicians are born narcissistic sociopaths, so falling into that role is a natural motion.
The difference is as might and day.
ReplyDeleteThe mussleman says as long as it serves their little g God, it is allowable. No matter the shape or form or substance it is okey dokey if it is to the interests of the first part.
God says sin is sin, none but my way is tolerable, least of all allowable. Doing right for the wrong reasons is still wrong. My way is straight but it is narrow.
The former appeals to lust. The former to love.
Politicians are apt to say any thing to their ends of 1) for reelection; 2) big heaps of power & control: 3) to secure their place in the annals of time. The truest A-holes are those voters who believe it. To them, ignorance is a virtue.
O how I despise autocorrect. Even after my proofreading, it changes back to what it thinks is correct.
DeleteSo then turn off the autocorrect. DO not become overly dependent on automation.

Contrarian view nailed it.
ReplyDeleteImmana steal it an use it on X,
Yet in the best English translation, instructed by God's anointed King James, it reads ""Thou shalt have no other gods before me".
ReplyDeleteThat is not a claim to be the only god but to be Top God: a Zeus, if you like, or an Odin.
I'm embarrassed to admit it took me decades to see what it meant.
The Authorized version was a good translation 400 years ago, but no better than the 1599 Geneva Bible, which King James VI/I hated. It did not acknowledge him as sovereign in its footnotes. Hence his ordering a new translation.
ReplyDeleteWe no longer speak that language. You would have a difficult time understanding Elizabethan English, or being understood by those who spoke it.
Truth is always attacked and a lie seldom is.
