Extinction Burst

All fishermen recognize the extinction burst. The trophy fish makes one last, all-or-nothing run for freedom as the battle draws to a close.

All parents (and grandparents) of two-year-olds recognize it as well. Just before the child accepts the absolute necessity of not hitting, scratching or biting of "their" adults...they make one (or several) final, last, desperate runs at flipping the tables.

Why that matters

We live in an era of distracted parenting and distracted governance. Appeasement is the life-hack of the distracted. There are many tranches of people who embraced mal-adaptive responses to environmental stimuli and the distracted parents rolled-over.

If you are a conservative, you probably believe that Donald Trump winning the 2024 Presidential Election will be a good thing.

In the long-term, I agree with that assessment. In the short-term, we are likely to see a storm of "Extinction Bursts" from various entitled classes. The most violent will likely be illegal immigrants who will be directed to spend their seven-year wait prior to a legal hearing IN THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. But those will not be the only ones.

From the perspective of the entitled tranches, giving up their mal-adaptive responses is to lose a fundamental element of who they see themselves as. They see it as a partial-death of their persona.

Watch your back ESPECIALLY if Donald J. Trump wins the election.

  1. Even the perception that your "Gimme Dats " are threatened can trigger dangerous behavior.

Let alone actually reduction of freebies can trigger those "entitled " souls.

And worse self defense seems illegal in the eyes of the law.

Interesting Times as in Chinese curse.

  2. I highly doubt Trump will be able to overcome the communists cheating machine. But on the slim chance he does the same thing will happen that happen last time he won. The swamp will obstruct his every effort and he will accomplish very little. Him winning buys America a 4 year hiatus till the communists regain power and continue the destruction of society. But it's unlikely he will win.

    1. I keep trying to imagine a scenario where he does win... I don't think they will allow it, they'll declare martial law first, but I'd digress...
So say he does get in and The Swamp circles the wagons, etc. How many of them can he summarily fire on day one? I know they've made efforts at classifying certain state-level employee's as un-fireable (barring malfeasance) specifically to combat this. And I'm still not convinced he's learned his lesson. I think the assassination attempt finally got through to him, but I still have my doubts (he's still a jewlover...)
Like much of America, I don't think he's really capable of seeing the truth. His paradigm is so firmly cemented where it is, it can't be dislodged. Even if you threw a half-dozen bullets at him.

  3. Be on an even higher alert if Donne wins....But ALWAYS watch your back when around other people. Always. Never stop. The less you know them the less you trust them (but, with few exceptions, trust no-one fully).
But ALWAYS watch you back. Just watch it more if Donnie wins. Be prepared to fort up for a week or 6 if need be, until things burn out.

  4. A fatal flaw for the democrats was thinking they could keep the charade of Biden rolling. When he was vp, the thought was nobody would off Barack to end up with biden.
If Trump wins, I would hope to see a much more visible VP Vance laying a groundwork toward the future. Trump is going to be under attack from all sides.
Was Dan Quayle a champion carrying on after defeat to Clinton Gore? I'd say he was shanked to death by Murphy Brown, even if he was still in the game after being vp.
I serve on a board where the vice chair is functionally worthless. Now he has been raised to chairman. Still functionally worthless, and it is the boards fault for not fixing it before it became the ****show that it is.

  5. Yep. They will not be pleased. I don't think Trump will make the mistake of trusting the wrong people twice. Clean, oiled and zeroed is my goal.

  6. I don't think most people grasp the severity of the situation. It's existential on both sides. One of them grasps that, and is fighting like it is, the other writes strongly worded letters making demands of a group, that has escape lawful bounds of decency.
Flip the script, make it a new post, what happens when she's installed?

  7. How do we get these millions of invaders, who are enjoying work-free lives here at our expense, to leave and go back home without triggering the worst violence this country has ever seen?

On a smaller scale, why do all my comments get a "failed to publish" message about 20 times before they are finally uploaded?

      We don't.

By some estimates, we have about 21 million illegal immigrants in this country right now. We have accumulated over 8 million in the last four years. Others have been here even longer.

Most of them are not going to leave voluntarily, and in many cases their home countries will not take them back. It is a logistical impossibility for us to transport them by involuntary means.

The pending economic collapse will certainly trigger "the worst violence this country has ever seen".

All pathways lead to the same end. Some just a lot faster than others.

  9. I suspect if they ALLOW Trump to "Win" it will be to have Trump and MAGA to BLAME for the Greater Depression and Bankruptcy of America.

Smart Money knew the Great Depression was near and the Democrats ran a nobody named Smith against Hoover. All through the Depression the Media called everything bad a Hoover this or that. Shantytowns were Hoovervilles, a bum with a newspaper over him was a Hoover Blanket and so on.

Warren Buffit has been selling a LOT. His Berkshire Hathaway has been buying its OWN SHARES.

Got a deep pantry and trusted friends and trusted family to ride out the Greater Depression?Michael

    1. Regarding Buffet, one angle on how he made his billions is via the insurance company. In insurance once a claim is declared they estimate the loss and call it an expense against income reducing tax liablity even though they have not yet paid. So they sit on the cash and invest it. Apart from the hype in an ordinary year an insurance company pays out 96% to 106%. Their profit and funding for the 6% over 100 comes from that investment of cash held while it goes to court or the process of figuring out what the actual claim is worth and paying it. Roger

    2. Insurance float has been a well-known Buffet method.

A million or so daily little gains from that float in daily T-bill stuff makes a lot of sense and money for investments.

Got to know the rules to play the game.
