I looked for staging tools for crimped primer pockets and didn’t find much. Care to recommend anything? Same for trimming and chamfering. I’m tempted by the Lee tool that mounts in the press for ~$40. The old school case trimming and manual chamfering gets old fast.
What you want depends upon the volumes of cases you need to process. RCBS makes a primer pocket swager die set for conventional presses which is entirely satisfactory for a wide range of volumes. All the reloading equipment manufacturers make manual case length trimmers which are satisfactory, but slow. The Dillon RT1500 Rapid Case Trimmer is the high volume choice, but expensive.
I have the RCBS swager and it comes with a large primer and a small primer "punch". It is much faster and easier on the hands than the cutters, none of which have ergonomic handles.
I am using a Lyman Smith case trimmer https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020728567?pid=258707 and it works great. I wear a pair of grippy gloves when trimming the smaller cartridge cases.
Well.....,that is good news and my response lets you know I also....,am alive!
ReplyDeleteOr are we both ai creations,hmmmm........
