Trump's tariffs kicking in just as AI slaughters the job market

"Learn to code" they said.

That might be working out so hot with AI stepping in.

Trump's tariffs are likely to bring back manufacturing jobs. That is looking prescient in terms of having enough jobs to go around.

Maybe the new advice should be "Learn how to stand on your feet for 10 hours a day and to walk 12 miles. Learn righty-tighty, lefty-loosie."

BMIs of US women by five-year age cohorts.

I was very surprised to see that the 2-to-24.9 virtually laid on top of all of the other, older cohorts.

  1. IDK Joe. Already pre-AI automotive factorys beyond the Unionized American plants is already heavy on robotics.

I suspect after seeing what China did this Chinese New Years displays with massive flying drones instead of fireworks doing fighting swordsmen and robots doing martial arts along with human martial artists sparring...

Robots can do righty tightly and work in places our arms cannot pretty easily. Looking at that replacement of a hot-cold water valves under my bathroom sink here.

    Techno Feudalism here we come.

  3. I believe the SCOTUS ruled it wasn't the Presidents job to change tariffs, that was Congress's job. FedEx and others are looking for rebates.

    1. Yes and no. While it is Congress' job, they have given their authority to the President in several ways over the years.
SCOTUS basically said he can't use this method in this situation. They said there are other authorities he could do it under, just not this one now.
