He got the O7's & above in the room to make sure he had their attention ... they couldn't later say they "missed" the video & didn't know. Then he dropped the new orders (a return to sanity) on them.
On the surface I think Rob has it right. You were told. You were issued orders. You violated those orders. Thank you for your service. Enjoy your retirement. Under the surface... I wonder what else took place. Most of those stripes and bars were earned under Barry and Auto-Pen. They're not Trump generals. In-fact remember, Barry purged all the old guard as part of the 'fundamental transformation'. These are power-point generals. Not Chesty-Puller-Types.
That was a big deal yesterday, huge! And none of the flag officers or senior non-coms who's whole service was under a woke regime can say they don't know because there were all there. Life in the Department Of War is different today than it was yesterday.
I'll believe it when I see chairborne rangers getting fired en masse. It's also time to DOGE the weapons development and procurement system. It should not be possible for a bunch of O-5s to make their entire careers on choosing a rifle. And considering what we've seen in Ukraine, if we don't get serious about drones and counter-drones we are at serious risk of losing our big assets. It would also help if Hegseth does a serious program of strength training. He was pathetic in that contest with RFK.
One of my coworkers was selected to develop new assembly line standards. He had to drive to Detroit every day.
Late one Friday he said "You will never guess what we did this past week."
The committee of seven highly-paid engineers had spent the entire work-week arguing about the exact shade of blue to paint the electric motors driving the conveyors. It was going to be part of the bid-specifications and suppliers were going to have to order custom-painted motors.
I can only imagine the waste that comes out of the Pentagon but I have a pretty good starting point.
I was held over after night shift to be on a committee to solve.. something. The first meetings were spent developing a motto for the team. I asked "Is this how the Japanese do it?" I was told to sit down.
I found Ryan McBeth's analysis of the speech to be very measured, and highlights key points that aren't really being discussed: https://youtu.be/RaaFziNxvuw

Yep.
ReplyDeleteI expected RIFs on the spot.
ReplyDeleteHe might be waiting for "self-deportations".

ReplyDeleteWell I hope they’re serious about it. The freak show has to stop. You can’t run anything, much less a military - on woke diversity…
ReplyDeleteWord on the street is that a special run of caffeinated crayons is in-process to support the Marines. No advantage is too small to leave unexploited.

1. Your images nailed it.
ReplyDeleteB. There MUST have been more to it. Nobody does a short stroke meeting that big, that fast, without a real good reason.
Thirdly, I'm delighted we don't know what else went on. Security is working.
d) Suggest all y'all and all yinz prepare for war. Currently there's lotsa opportunity for international kinetic buffoonery.

He was willing to get out in the Arena.
