Server attacks?

Maybe it is just a sign of the times and it doesn't mean anything, but one of the tinfoil-hat sites I occasionally visit reported multiple server attacks in the past 26 hours.

Or maybe it is related to proximity to the US Presidential election.

Over the past 26 hours we have been taken down 5 times. The TFH* server is one of over 25,000 servers worldwide that are under attack at the moment.

We will be back online just as quickly as possible, but it may be later today before that happens.

For those of you who are fellow computer geeks, here are some articles explaining whats going on out there in our Cyberworld.

  6. Please - terminology...
    It is not tinfoil hat.
    The proper term is AFDB

  7. Some attacks are of the "I wonder if I can do this" variety. Others are specifically targeted. And many are foreign Intel agencies just keeping their hand in the game waiting for instructions to go full scale. And there's no way to tell which are of what type usually.

  8. My suspicion? No mater how the elections come out, this will continue in scope and frequency. Given the likely unrest between now and Inauguration Day 2025, there is no reason for any bad actors to let off the throttle at all.

    1. Don't forget that this could be criminal activity as well, some gangs have been getting into ransomware in a big way.

It's a low cost low risk way of getting a substantial payday...
