Comfort food and comfort books

I am eating a pulled-pork sandwich and rereading The Heretics of St. Possenti by Rolf Nelson for the nth+1 time.

Does anybody else have any guilty-pleasures?

  1. Snacking on home roasted almonds (in bacon fat) while rereading Needles and Delany, by Todd Dorsey and the Missus

  2. When life gets busy those rotisserie chix at the grocery store are a lifesaver for dinner... then the chicken soup afterwards is a bonus. HOWEVER, I have learned to simply get the nasty yellow processed cheese slices when you're at the store buying the chicken, because grilled cheese just doesn't taste right if you use anything else. And Wonder bread, too.

  3. Between tasks on the Ranch, water and snack, hoping you have also read “The Stars Came Back”, also by Rolf Nelson. And obviously readying your blog…

  4. Bad Science Fiction movies (like the channel Sci-Fi bad back in the '90's), Wheat Thins, a new book.

  5. For me, a chopped beef brisket sandwich (slice of cheese gratefully accepted) with toasted buns is a favorite. Sides of red beans - sliced pickles - onion slices. Pulled pork is delicious too.

  6. While reading this blog post: a so-called family sized bag of sea salt and black pepper kettle-cooked ruffled potato chips washed down with Pepsi-and-tequila. BURP. I may forget to mention this at my annual physical next week.
