We use ladders that come together at the top of the rungs to poke into the tree branches easier. Also part of the harvesters tool kit is a basket that straps to the chest with a canvas bottom that unloads the fruit into 20 bushel bins. Think backpack worn backwards. Our biggest secret is Jamaican harvesters come to stay for the harvest and man those guys can go thru an orchard quick. My best day is around 80 bushel picked. The Jamaicans have that by lunch break, and they are gentile with the fruit.
