I take the dog up to the gully behind the barn where there is always a rabbit and let him chase it around the gully three times while I shoot at it. Then I take the dog and go home. Works great. The dog has a good time, the rabbit has a good time and I have a good time. And I get to hunt the same rabbit all winter. ---ken coyoteken48https://www.blogger.com/profile/06182514695395380561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2970975545475697571.post-34858612121865488052021-02-10T11:38:21.028-05:002021-02-10T11:38:21.028-05:00I have an old pistol that is fairly unique. If loaded with the appropriate ammo, the bullet will be placed right at or in the forcing cone. The bullet is actually set just below the rim of the case, which is then slightly crimped over it. With a second cylinder, which I have, it'll safely shoot 2 or 3 different types of ammo. I have it on good authority that rabbits will goad each other to make a run past me with the admonition that "Stuart can't hit the inside of a barn". Apparently, the closer they run to me the greater the glory. I expect Michigan rabbits demonstrate their courage to their peers the same way. <br />As an aside: In Texas the little asshole Quail like to all huddle very quietly while they watch you approach then jump straight up into flight at the instant you step into their midst. They seem to live for scaring the hell out of me. You have been warned.Stuarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09875771168878913283noreply@blogger.com
