I keep it in a 5 gallon pail with a tight lid and cinnamon sticks in it to keep the bugs away. My kitchen oat supply sits in a 1.5 litre glass jar. Four times a week with raisins or diced figs thrown in while cooking, lasts one year. I finish breakfast with a big spoonful of OG unsalted peanut butter (to complete the protein) and a pint or two of tea. No need for a morning coffee break with those slow processing oats. My ...That is a good practice for many things I use. My start was eye drops (Glaucoma) that never deliver what they say. Some last way longer, a good thing. Some not as long, very bad since in this case its a name brand and costs $600+ @ bottle. The copay is about $50 @ month. So, if it lasts 45 days, I pay two months copay every 45 days. Adds up fast and puts me in the donut hole every year. So, I started tracking my usage very carefully by writing the start and end date on the box the bottles came in. Believe it or not, I won the argument with the Pharmacy/Drug Ins carrier and got them to change the way they count the number of drops per ml/bottle. Saved me app $500 last year.
Now I track stuff on several consumables to facilitate keeping in stock, especially with current out of stock issues.
Great idea with marker.Grumpy Old Timerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15383737945222937046noreply@blogger.com
