Fine Art Tuesday

A hillside orchard
Iosif Evstafevich Krachkovsky was born in 1854 and died in 1914. He is considered a "Russian" painter. Many of his paintings were made in Ukraine.

He certainly knew how to paint an expressive sky.

A garden

A well

  1. It's always interesting to me to see some of the 'primative' tools depicted in the paintings. Like the level to assist the well in one of them today. I saw something similar in a construction video, guy was using a simple crane to hoist logs up and around his cabin.

  2. Thanks as always, ERJ.

The blossoms on the trees are especially well captured.

Like Anon above, I do find the representation of "Old" technology in these paintings fascinating.
