  1. Maybe Regans "Trust but verify" needs revision?

Oddly that "old book" the Bible still seems useful in a crazy world.

    1. Yeah, I noticed that too. Wonder if her feet look like hands.

  3. The meme actually originated as a serious thought.

The seventy year-old widow with the timeshare problem was walking at the gym with her sister whose husband is still alive.

The sister was talking about how devastating it would be if her husband dies first and it got me to thinking.

"Granny" in the Ukrainian videos is probably a widow and she would have zero chance of meeting a decent guy in the modern, hyper-visual, lie-driven meat-market we call dating apps. And yet she is loyal and frugal and hard-working and cheerful....and her hands smell like honest food and garden dirt and soap.

    1. A sad truth Joe. I recall you mentioning about the ratio of older women and older men at your church. Ukraine Granny here has support from family.

America lost a lot when the extended family support got outsourced to Gov.com social services.

  4. Years ago and far away I was working a roadway relocation in the middle of almost nowhere farm country. An old bar trick to get some pretty gals hand in yours was to say you could read palms. One morning at a local diner a very pregnant waitress walked up to the booth, thrust her hands out to me and asked "Will my baby be born healthy?" I calmly assured her it would be, and ended palm reading from then on.
