A very old story

This story pre-dates the advent of Big-Box stores.

Two young men, cousins, emigrated from "the Old-Country" somewhere in Eastern Europe. They were very, very close.

They changed their names to something more American sounding, Ronnie Nate Carter and Dickie Nathanial Carter.

They settled in a town of modest size, perhaps 25,000 souls and opened a store.

Not just any store but a store selling very expensive merchandise in the largest retail space available downtown. Everybody said they were going to go broke paying the rent.

Business was good for a while. The two cousins were a novelty. They offered a vast selection compared to the other stores of their type and the prices were good.

But then the predictions of the wiser, older heads seemed to be coming true. Business started to slow down.

There are reasons to not go into business with family members. There are more dynamics involved and it can be more difficult to solve issues.

The relationship between Ron and Donnie turned acrimonious. Ron blamed Donnie for locking them into a long-term lease on the space. Donnie very loudly told anybody who would listen that Ron couldn't sell a can of soda-pop to a man dying of thirst.

Over the course of two weeks the relationship crashed and burned. The fights were legendary and very, very public. Apparently the standards of resolving issues was different in Outer Elbonia than it was in straight-laced-New England.

It was a spectacle and people came to watch the men go at each other's throats and to hear the cursing in Outer Elbownian.

On the fifteenth day, Ron had enough. He started shoving merchandise around, clearing a path across the center of the store from front-to-back.

"What the hell are you doing?" Donnie demanded.

"You will see" Ron retorted hotly.

Jumping into the store's delivery truck he drove down to the lumber yard and picked up a load of bricks and some mortar.

Returning to the store he started building a wall down the center of the store.

"The hell you will" declared Donnie.

HE went to the lumber yard and brought back a pallet of cinderblocks.

He changed the cleared path to enlarge his half and started laying cinderblocks faster than Ron could lay bricks.

Heedless of how incredibly ugly it was, the men kept dashing back to the lumberyard and buying whichever load of blocks or bricks was closest to the door. First Donnie taking a bite out of Ron's side then Ron taking a bigger bite out of Donnie's side.

One end of the wall ended up right up the middle of the main display window facing Main Street.

The wall was a chimera of grossly differing bricks and they were laid quickly without pointing and with untouched squeeze-out in places, such was their haste.

Ron took a sheet of plywood and spray painted his initials on it in three-feet tall letters. He posted it in front of HIS store. Donnie did the same.

From that moment on, everything they did was motivated by spite. If somebody found an item at one store that was cheaper, the other proprietor would not only match that price but sell it for a dollar cheaper, and that was at a time when a dollar was a princely sum of money.

The story of the dispute, and the resolution spread across the state. People would drive from three counties away to see the ugly wall and to shop at the two stores.

Each man never passed up an opportunity to berate or denigrate their cousin. It had become a matter of honor.

The men died within a week of each other, fittingly both were standing at their cash registers when God-or-the-Devil took them.

They left no heirs.

When the Probate officials came to assess the assets, they found the stores shared the cellar. There was one room filled with shared inventory, one set of books and one safe jam-packed with $100 bills.

Yep, the falling out between the two cousins was all an act to gull the rubes. The two stores, RNC and DNC were identically the same  and the differences were "for show".

  1. The US is not a democracy, and it's not a republic. It's an oligarchy.

If someone's name is on the ballot, they've either been vetted and approved by the oligarchs, or deemed harmless by the oligarchs (either because they are deemed to have no chance of winning or if they do win, can't harm the oligarchs).

That is why it is virtually impossible to change the system. 'If voting could change anything, it would be illegal.' That's more than just a comedian's one-liner.

We saw what happens on the rare occasion that someone slips into office unapproved by the oligarchs. The system acts like a swarm of killer bees whose nest has been disturbed. Just ask DJT.

  2. I was told a story that DJT, shortly after being elected in 2016, was speaking with Rush Limbaugh. He told Limbaugh of his mandate and goal to drain the swamp. Limbaugh reportedly said, "With all due respect sir, you have NO IDEA what you are up against".

Between November 4th and January 20th, when it was obvious that the election had been blatantly and openly stolen, what struck me the most was that NOT ONCE did the Republican Party stand in lockstep behind DJT. Even the ones whom Trump had campaigned for and dragged across the finish line to victory were nowhere to be found. This told me everything. The Democrats stealing an election is one thing. After all, they are Commumists, and that is just what Commies do. But the Republicans going along with it and in the end voting to certify the obviously fraudulent results was undeniable proof that they are in on it. The DNC and RNC are two wings of the same predatory bird. Or put another way, we have a two-headed one-party system in America.

It is a sobering and demoralizing realization to understand that the majority of Americans who are Normals, and who hold traditional, mainstream American values and beliefs, have NO political representation in Washington, DC. I wish I knew something that could be done about it.

I hear conservative pundits talking about how "We'll get 'em next time, in '22 or '24". To me that is just happy horseshit. Because unless the Great Steal of 2020 is completely and very publicly unwound, there will be no "getting them next time" ever again. The same fraudulent-by-design Smartmatic voting machines and Dominion software is still in place nationwide. The same millions of phantom voters (voters who do not actually exist, and who all voted for Biden) are still on the voter rolls in every swing state. The same system whereby anyone and everyone is sent an absentee ballot allowed to vote by mail is still in place. Unless all of this is dismantled in its entirety, we will never have a free or fair election ever again in these United States.

    2. I can verify that NC Senator Thom Tillis followed this exact route. He says there was no election theft. Trump dragged his sad ass over the finish line and he showed Negative support against the steal. Thom Tillis is a Rat bastard.

  3. Kamala Harris is living proof of how far a strong sense of ambition can push a person, way past the shortcomings of their intelligence and moral character.

    1. KH is the living embodiment of a post turtle : When you're driving down a country road and you see a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle. You know he didn't get up there by himself. He doesn't belong there; you wonder who put him there; he can't get anything done while he's up there; and you just want to help the poor, dumb thing down.

  4. The selection of Biden and Harris by the Obama and his junta, who really run the Democrat party, was made deliberately as a huge middle finger to the American people. And so far, we're just hiding our heads and taking the abuse.
