Planting posts

Planting posts
Support is important for young fruit trees for a couple of reasons. Reducing wind-whip results in the trees producing sooner in life. Carbohydrates that are not invested in beefing up the trunk are available to set and ripen fruit. The other benefit is that many dwarfing fruit rootstock either have feeble anchorage or brittle graft unions. Running a support wire solves both of those issues.

Same posts earlier in the day. Eight feet long, two feet in the ground.
I don't know who lives here but they have a million dollar view.
That truck lives in the upper left corner of the image and the sunroom looks south, out over Carr Lake.
