The Soul Food, Boone's Farm and Kimchee diet

I went in for my annual physical in the middle of January.  My Low Density Cholesterol and Triglycerides were high.

My doctor put me on a diet and will recheck the blood chemistry near the end of March.

He looked me in the eye and said, "This diet is real simple.  Stop eating white food!"

My blood chemistry might not be any better but I am very happy with this diet.

  1. There's a piece of bread on the plate, so you're not following the doc's advice. "White" foods include things made with flour, sugar, potatoes or rice.

  2. Went through the same stuff a number of years ago. Losing weight and watching what I ate got my cholesterol down, but the triglycerides were always high (genetics?). Been on fenofibrate for a long time and it seems to do a good job of keeping the numbers manageable.
